Scores of years have passed since the fireworks were set off to mark victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.
  Our war veterans are still full of delight and pride in having won victory in the war under the wise leadership of the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung.
  The spirit of defending the leader and the country to the death and mass heroism, displayed by the victorious wartime generation in the fierce flames of the war, constitute the precious ideological and spiritual wealth in the struggle for achieving the prosperity of the country and the victory in the revolutionary cause of Juche.
  That is why the Workers’ Party of Korea puts forward the war veterans, who firmly safeguarded the dignity of the country and the gains of the revolution, as benefactors and precious teachers of all people across the country and bestows all favours on them.
  Our war veterans will lead a happy life in glory to their heart’s content, full of energy despite their advanced ages, under the care of the great Party and the dignified and powerful socialist country.
