The Workers' Party of Korea inscribed a hammer, sickle and writing brush symbolizing the working people in its red flag which it had held up in the initial days of the Korean revolution. Under this flag the Party has braved innumerable challenges of the history going through the tempest of the revolution. The flag represents the victorious history of the Party that has led the revolution along the far and rugged road for the freedom and happiness of the people and the reverence and trust of the people in the Party that has always shared weal and woe with them on this road. The flag has always served as a guiding banner in the vanguard of the revolutionary ranks; it is a symbol of miracles and victories, which has made it possible for the country and people to rise up to the highest peak of the century by overcoming all sorts of trials and difficulties, a symbol of the people's mother that has taken charge of their destiny and brought them up to be heroes. The Korean people will dynamically carry forward and accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche under the leadership of the Party, flying higher the red flag of the Juche-oriented Party and enjoying the blessing of having great leaders generation after generation.
