The opera A Dream of Red Mansions is the work adapted from the famous classical novel of China which was created under the personal and the wise guidance of the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung more than 60 years ago.
    While the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il was very busy with his revolutionary leadership, he gave the task of re-creating the opera A Dream of Red Mansions in Juche 97(2008) and gave precious instructions for scores of times to restore the work that had been lost in the course of time to meet the requirements of the new century.
    All the creators and artistes of the Phibada Opera Troupe made the work as The Sea of Blood-style operas and a masterpiece guaranteed by high ideological and artistic qualities and gave the first performance with the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il in Juche 98 (2009), the year of friendship between the DPRK and China.
    
The opera A Dream of Red Mansions was made travelling performances in various cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Qingdao of China, in Juche 99(2010) to be acclaimed by the Chinese people and brought the great sensation across the world.
    
The script of the work was written by the writer Jo Ryong Chul, Kim Il Sung Prize Winner, and the music was made by the composer Ri Myon Sang, Kim Il Sung Prize Winner, People’s Artist.
